Payment & Fraud Platform

Payment API and fraud/risk engine serving millions of monthly transactions at Almosafer, with 10+ payment providers integrated.

Leading the engineering team responsible for the Payment and Fraud platforms behind Almosafer (Seera Group), the Middle East's leading travel brand — systems that carry millions of transactions every month and cannot be wrong.

The work covers the Payment API and the fraud and risk engine, high-volume transaction processing, and integrations with more than ten payment providers: Checkout.com, Tamara, Tabby, STC Pay, BenefitPay, HyperPay, Amazon Pay, KNET, Emkan, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Payments is a domain where 'mostly working' is indistinguishable from broken. Every provider has its own idea of what a refund is, 3-D Secure adds a step that can silently cost a third of your conversions, and the fraud rules that protect revenue are the same ones that block it. Recent work has focused on enhancing the fraud detection flow and 3DS risk evaluation to lift transaction success rates, and on migrating the platform from PHP to reactive Java on Spring WebFlux for scalability and throughput.

Part of the engineering group behind Almosafer's first co-branded travel credit card in Saudi Arabia, launched in partnership with BSF and Visa.
